Tim Donaghy Sentenced to 15 Months in Prison | Bleacher Report

Tim Donaghy Sentenced to 15 Months in Prison | Bleacher Report: "Tim Donaghy was sentenced to 15 months in prison on Tuesday morning.

After Donaghy was removed from officiating NBA games for gambling and making questionable calls, he went on a tirade, accusing other referees and NBA brass of encouraging the calls to protect ticket sales.

On top of his prison sentence, Donaghy must also attend counseling for a gambling addiction and undergo a three-year supervised release.

Two of Donaghy's high school friends were sentenced to more than a year in prison last week. James Battista, a professional gambler, was sentenced to 15 months. The middle man in the scheme, Thomas Martino, was sentenced to a year and one day.

Donaghy faced up to 33 months, but received 15 when the judge took his cooperation into consideration."
