Read More Here: "WINSTED - A young Winsted couple was arrested by Winsted police and charged with abusing and neglecting their 10-month-old son.
The infant nearly died from its injuries, Winchester police reported Monday, but received treatment and is in the care of the Department of Children and Families.

Mark R. Lee, 19, 430 Main St., surrendered to police Saturday on an arrest warrant charging him with risk of injury to a minor and first-degree assault. The mother whose identity was not released because she is 17 years old, was also arrested Saturday and charged on a warrant with risk of injury to a minor.
The couple was released on non-surety bonds and scheduled to appear in Bantam Superior Court on Sept. 2.
Lee called 911 for help when the infant stopped breathing. At Charlotte Hungerford Hospital medical personnel reported to Winsted police that the child suffered seven fractures to his ribs and the baby's leg was broken, police said. The baby was also undernourished."
